Product Description
Professionals who serve families with children who have attention disorders will find the more than sixty articles in this book to be a valuable resource throughout the course of diagnosis, treatment, and intervention. The articles cover many aspects of ADHD, including definition, diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, interventions, legal issues, and cognitive and emotional development. They are useful in conjunction with ongoing interventions and .patient/student/family counseling.
The reproducible articles are written specifically for parents of children who have or who are at risk for attention disorders. When a client asks for or demonstrates a need for particular information, the clinician can select the necessary article or articles, and make a copy for the parent to take home. The articles also could be used as handouts during in-services and workshops.
Diagnosing Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder requires a team process, and the professionals who wrote the articles for this handbook are experienced members of the team process. As well as being experts on Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, the authors also have expertise in the fields of medicine, psychology, education, speech-language pathology, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, and the law.
