It was during his stay in Japan in 1992 that he created the story of Akiko and her journey to Smoo. First published by Sirius Entertainment as a comic book in 1995, the bi-monthly AKIKO series has since earned Mark over a dozen Eisner Award nominations, as well as a spot on Entertainment Weekly’s “100 Most Creative People in Entertainment” list in 1998. Several hardcover and softcover AKIKO novelizations from Random House Children’s Books are available in bookstores (written and illustrated by Crilley). He currently lives with his wife, Miki, and their son in Royal Oak, Michigan, just a few miles from the streets where he was raised. Reader Reviews i read this book when it firts came out it is an all action with some twist in the story so you should read akiko on the planet smoo Akiko in the shrubed islands and akiko and the grate wall of trued and akiko in alen relepors castle because you wont understand some of the thing that happen in this story. i read this book in less than 24 hours.
