Product Description
FileMaker Pro 8 is an award-winning database program. This version of the
software continues to build on FileMaker 7's radical update, making this book essential not only to beginners but also intermediate users and professionals who need to get up to speed with all the changes. This book covers it all, with topics ranging from defining database terms, security, and converting files from previous FileMaker Pro versions to using files on the Web, creating reports and scripts, and using FileMaker Mobile and XML.
About The Author
Jonathan Stars is a professional FileMaker consultant in Michigan. He has developed databases for Michigan state government agencies, associations, music publishers, and universities. He is a member of the FileMaker Solutions Alliance, a writer for FileMaker Advisor magazine, a FileMaker Certified developer, and the author of four previous versions of Learn FileMaker Pro from Wordware Publishing.
Reader ReviewsAs a Mac and FileMaker user, I like the visual nature of most applications and books that explain to use them. However, this book only has small, barely legible greyscale screenshots that don't help you understand anything. I bought this book because of the reviews, that, as a result of recently meeting an author, now know must be by friends and family. It didn't even have a CD that provides examples for tutuorials. I recommend looking around.
