Keith Stroup, founder and executive director of The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws
Dave's fascinating life confirms my own discovery: if you think you need Viagra, you haven't tried cannabis!
Book Description
If grass makes you stupid and lazy, how did Dave Ford get smart and rich? Never before has a highly successful human being so courageously revealed his use of marijuana for over 55 years. Between stories that alternately tear at your heart and leave you helpless with laughter, Ford uses evidence gathered over a lifetime to shred anti-marijuana propaganda. He shares his encounters with thousands who have found that grass is a miracle plant - yet understandably fear to admit it. Share Dave's enthralling life, including his tales of traveling the world, making love to hundreds of gorgeous women, and his adventures with: Gary Cooper * Don Ho * Bing Crosby * Henry J. Kaiser * Groucho Marx * Wayne Newton * Richard Nixon * John F. Kennedy * Humphrey Bogart * Lauren Bacall * Cab Calloway * Tiny Tim * Milton Berle * Billy Graham * Charlton Heston * Duke Kahanamoku * Lloyd Bridges * Eva Gabor * Liberace * Jonathan Winters * and many more! Putting his money where his mouth is, Dave Ford has issued a ONE MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE. The first page of Good Medicine, Great Sex! reads:
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has stated repeatedly and unequivocally that marijuana has no medical value, and consequently has classified it as a Schedule I controlled substance, along with heroin - even though the synthetic drug Marinol, with the same psychoactive ingredient, is classified in Schedule III.
Author David R. Ford offers to pay the DEA one million dollars, if, within one year from the publication of this book, the government can prove that marijuana has no medical value, on the condition that if it cannot, the federal government agrees to release all prisoners presently serving time for nonviolent marijuana-related offenses, to cease arresting and charging others with such offenses, and to move marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III.
Reader Reviews
Good Medicine, Great Sex! is the personal and iconoclastic memoir of David R. Ford in which he unashamedly proclaims the virtues of marijuana for creativity, medicine, pleasure, and sexual enhancement. Sharply denying the government's strict anti-cannabis stance, and framing the his own illustrious, successful, and high-profile life with great acknowledgment for marijuana's beneficial herbal powers, David Ford is intriguingly unrepentant in its advocacy in behalf of marijuana usage. This along with wonderful anecdotes of his personal encounters with Gary Cooper, Don HO, Bing Crosby, Henry J. Kaiser, Groucho Marx, Wayne Newton, Richard Nixon, John F. Kennedy, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Cab Calloway, Liberace, and Jonathan Winters, make Good Medicine, Great Sex! good autobiography and great reading!
