The book may be well written and may have been up to date in 1995 but it is now thoroughly out of date. In the opening chapter it talks about MPEG2 as a new technology and dismisses the digital transmission of video signals because of the high cost of encoders and decoders. The book also talks about ATM in the way everyone did in 1995 thinking it was going to extend to the desktop.
