Reader Reviews
This review is from: Mac OS X Version 10.1 Little Black Book (Paperback)
Thanks to Gene Steinberg, I am up and running with Mac OS X. I can hardly believe it, because I heard all the horror stories. But this book took me from installation, to setup, to preferences and troubleshooting in short order. I enjoyed the basic tutorial on Mac OS X's UNIX underpinnings, though I don't intend to use the command line any time soon. I was especially pleased to learn that, unlike what Apple tells you, you can indeed do a clean reinstall of Mac OS X without wiping out your hard drive. That, alone, is more than worth the price of this book. Highly recommended!
