From the supplier: College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL turns to Los Angeles, CA-based systems integrator Evernet Systems Inc to develop a network architecture to link its computer-aided design lab with the campus computer center. Originally, the CAD lab used a mainframe-based system with 12 workstations, and was only able to handle 450 students. The new lab downsized to a network supporting thirty microcomputers and 24 CAD workstations with more than four times the power of the mainframe system. Evernet, a systems integrator with a background in academic applications, was called in to integrate the CAD lab with the DuPage's Seaton Computer Center, which centralizes the 300 microcomputer campus network and provides a vital uninterruptible power supply. Evernet used an Ethernet 10Base-T network to connect the CAD lab's networked microcomputers and printers. Evernet is also providing ongoing service and maintenance for the CAD lab, which now handles 1,000 students per year.
