Disclosure - I do not personally know the author or work for the publisher. I am not familiar with the series and had not previously owned any other publications from this author. I spent half my life in Mansfield, Ohio without ever really knowing (or caring, at that time) much about my hometown. Ironically, long after having left for college, this book finally helped to make Mansfield an interesting place to me. Mansfield In Vintage Postcards is a historical and nostaglic look back at the rise, fall, and hopeful rekindling of a once vibrant rust belt town over the last 200 or so years. The pictures could tell a story of many similar midwest towns as they evolved through the age of expansion, industrial revolution, through today. I'm not sure what this book would hold for those not familiar with Mansfield, but I enjoyed it and later also purchased the companion book from Mr. McKee, Mansfield - Images of America Series.
