This book is a compressed practical manual on the Java programming language, and consists of 21 lessons.
The main features of the Java language are covered in the first half of the book and such advanced topics as working with databases, Java Servlets, JSP, EJB, and JMS are explained in the second half. Most of the lessons from this book come with working applications and setup instructions. The first ten lessons come with independent applications and the second half of the book leads you through development of a Stock Trading System, the final version of which is designed using Java servlets, JSP, EJB, and JMS.
The book also contains technical questions and answers for Java technical job interviews.

Reader Reviews
I liked the first chapter but the other chapters are two short and difficult to understand. The price of the book is too high. I have more than ten books about Java. I like Andy Harris's book (step by step explanations;all exercises work fine), Schildt's books (all the exercises work fine),and K.N.King's book.We need several books for learning Java, because no one is perfect.
