Book Description
CompTIA, the A+, Network+, Server+, i-Net+ – and the vast array of other pluses – certification outfit has revised its certification program for the hard-working network technician with an great general knowledge of networks and internetworking technologies. However, unlike other networking certifications, such as MCSE, CNE, or CCNA, Network+ covers all kinds of general network technology knowledge and practices, instead of revolving around just the brand-specific stuff. Reader Reviews
This review is from: Network+ Certification for Dummies (Paperback)
The book is well written and definitely helped my understanding of networking, but the CD (with the tests on it) isn't anything great. The questions are very poorly worded. For example (straight from the CD): "In order to prevent end-users from loading problematic applications on the network, what should you do? A. Run regular tape backups B. Install anti-virus software C. Do not purchase machines with Floppy Disks and CDROMS D. Do not allow access to the Internet" The answer is "A." The question was "what should you do to keep users from installing problematic applications, not "what should you do to prevent end users from infecting the network with a virus."
