From the Author
The focus of my book is on day-to-day administration of Exchange 2000. The book is organized as a series of 25 chapters that lead the reader gradually from simpler topics (pure installations, recipients, address lists, recipient policies) to more complex ones (administrative and routing groups, storage architecture, connectors, upgrades, monitoring and maintenance). Included in these chapters are over 150 hands-on walkthroughs covering a multitude of tasks that competent Exchange 2000 administrators need to be able to perform. If desired, readers can follow along as they read by working through the various walkthroughs on their own testbed systems similar to the one described in the book. Numerous screenshots are also included, which makes this book an great learning tool even for readers who cannot set up their own testbed systems. The book also includes notes, tips, background information, and under-the-hood looks at how Exchange 2000 operates. Anyone who n! eeds to learn how to perform day-to-day administration of Exchange 2000 will find this book an great learning tool and will find it a valuable reference guide afterwards. Companies may want to purchase this book to use it for training junior administrators to operate Exchange. Technical schools can employ it as a classroom textbook for teaching Exchange administration. And individuals intending to take the Exchange 2000 exams as part of their MCSE certification will find this book an great tool for gaining the hands-on experience that is always the most valuable key for success on such exams. Experienced administrators will find this book a quick and easy introduction to the new version of the product. While some troubleshooting information is included, this book is not intended as an in-depth guide for troubleshooting Exchange migration, connectivity, or disaster recovery issues.
Reader ReviewsEasy to read - easy to understand There are SO many new concepts to Exchange 2000 - it can be a bit daunting. I also found an inaccuracy and wrote the author about it, who clarified it immediate. Impressed me a great deal that he stood behind his material. It also has nice practical walkthroughs, but they require three machines to set up the proper Exchange 2000 environment - which I recommend.
