Product Description
This IDC study utilizes results from IDC's Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) SMB Survey, 2003. The study looks at the viability of pursuing the SMB marketplace in Asia/Pacific by looking at end-user trends on telecom service up-take, network expenditure, security, and outsourcing. IDC surveyed corporations with less than 250 employees in each Asia/Pacific country to assess their usage and future requirements in terms of telecom networks and services.
"The survey found SMB organizations in the region to be predictably price sensitive and most worried about their network security and management in terms of technological concerns," said Renee Gamble, Senior Program Manager, Asia/Pacific Fixed Line Telecommunications. However, the widespread up-take of broadband services is a positive step for SMBs in Asia/Pacific. With increased incidence of Internet connectivity, together with greater bandwidth from broadband, SMBs remain a fertile target for the deployment of additional services.
