MCSE Fast Track: Windows NT Server 4 is designed to help users familiar with NT Server 4 pass the 70-067 073
Microsoft Certified
software Engineer (MCSE) exam quickly. This title crams the most essential technical information into its first 191 pages, with about eighty more dedicated to exam preparation and review.
Following the structure of the certification test, the author covers the various categories with sharp focus on the most important information. The author, Emmett Dulaney, begins by covering disk configuration, protocol choices, installation strategies, and printer configuration. Next comes a discussion of managing user accounts, system policies, and disk resources. The book then moves into practical details of configuring NT with NetWare, setting up the remote access server (RAS), monitoring the network, and optimizing performance. He also presents several common troubleshooting scenarios, including "blue screen errors" and boot failures.
The second part of the book includes a quick review of "fast facts," a section entitled "Insider's Spin on Exam 70-067," and sample test questions. The book wraps up with a review of TCP/IP networking and the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model.
If you have experience with NT Server 4 and want to get certified quickly, this Fast Track title is probably right for you. Concise presentation and well-tuned sidebars like "What Is Important to Know" make this an great refresher tool.
