Book Description
Written by a Sybase insider who is one of the original architects of the Replication Server, this authoritative handbook shows enterprise computing professionals how to design, implement, test, and maintain distributed systems, based on the Sybase Replication Server (RS). Beginning with an overview of the RS, Charles B. Clifford moves on to cover such vital issues as conflict avoidance and resolution, system security, disaster recovery, and maintenance. Clifford also includes important information on functions, function strings, and function string classes; the Log Transfer Manager; replication definitions and subscriptions; stable queues; and managing changes to a deployed RS system. In addition, four fully developed case studies are presented, including an example illustrating a wireless setup of the RS.
Reader ReviewsI bought this "primer" book because I thought it can help me to understand the Sybase Replication Server better. But this book is difficult to read and understand. You can learn much more from the Sybase manuals that come with the Replication Server. Sadly, this is the only Sybase Replication Server book which is available commercially. But it will get you no where. Save your money.
