Book Description
The theory of H-infinity control is very popular because of its usefulness for robust control design combined with performance optimization. The theory is well developed for finite-dimensional systems and it is the purpose of this book to extend the major finite-dimensional state-space results to a large class of distributed parameter systems. The class of distributed parameter systems treated in the book contains many models for delay systems, as well as partial differential equations, and allows for unbounded inputs and outputs. A substantial part of the book is devoted to the exposition of the nice mathematical and system theoretic properties of this class. Furthermore, some basic examples are given.
As in the finite-dimensional state-space approach to the problem, the solvability of the H-infinity control problem is related to the solvability of Riccati equations, the difference being that in this book the Riccati equations are operator valued.
The book assumes a basic knowledge about infinite-dimensional systems and is intended for research workers and graduate students
