Book Description
This book recounts the Herculean efforts of an eBay user to find the crook who robbed him of $1900 and get his money back. At issue is the effect of the growing problem of eBay fraud and its relationship to local law enforcement and the courts. Can those who are Internet fraud victims have success pursuing their cases through the American justice system? Is it fair for one company, eBay, to be overloading an already overloaded criminal justice system with these cases? Should eBay take more responsibility? These questions are yours to decide.
About The Author
Bill Willcox is a photojournalist living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This is his first book. Not an experienced writer, Willcox is an experienced user of eBay who once had his own business on the website. A few months ago, he purchased a $2000 digital camera on eBay, sent the money via PayPal, and never received the camera. In pursuing his stolen money, he realized he had something to say. This book is the result.
Reader ReviewsThe book takes you on one mans journey to seek justice over a eBay seller gone bad. Allows you to go step by step as to his actions and thoughts. Along with some humor and a very sage wife guiding him with her words of wisdom. You will see yourself in his writing when you found something perfect, paid for it and waited in anticipation for it's arrival. Then the realization nothing was going to arrive and you are on your own to retrieve any monetary recompense. The book is invaluable for anyone who finds themselves in the same position of fraud and wonders where to turn to next. With fortitude and overcoming many road blocks, this author found justice. It is certainly a cautionary tale. The protection you think you have with PayPal and eBay is not what you think. Don't get mad, be methodical and don't give up is this authors message.
