How many Unix gurus does it take to write the definitive Unix Web server guide? In this case, it took five members of the SunSite development team to compile a guide on creating and running a Unix Web server.
The Unix Web Server Book assumes some experience with Unix, but even a cursory familiarity should be ample. (The first chapter is entitled "What Is the Web?") The authors walk you step by step through the server setup process, the addition of images and other files to your site, and some important security issues. The sections on multimedia tools and file types are exhaustive and especially helpful. On the programming side, everything from HTML basics to forms and Java is covered. The included CD-ROM contains Red Hat Linux; both Apache and Jigsaw server
software programs; and dozens of utilities for file conversion, management, and display.
