1993 The book is remarkably easy to use and information is found very quickly There are few enough single volume reference works which treat basics and applications, either for superconductivity or magnetism, on an equal footing. This book fills the gap admirably and will probably be found valuable by a large range of scientists --
Advanced Materials1993 The encyclopedia is of considerable value to students, teachers and practitioners since almost all aspects of magnetic and supercoonducting materials have been covered indetail. The presentation are concise and more than adequate for the purpose intended. The technical coverage is sound as expected of contributions from experts in the subject The encyclopedia is recommended to all science libraries and to libraries of materials science and physics departments. --
C.N.R. RAO, Bulletin of Materials Science1993 The volume will be of particular value to materials scientists and those intersted in the properties and applications of magnetic and superconducting materials. A highly recommended reference book. --

Bulletin of Materials Science
Reader ReviewsThis book provides an in-depth yet accesible insight into the nature of magnetic and superconducting materials. The format is that of an alphabetical list of topics relating to magnetism and superconductivity. Typically 5 or so pages long, these individual topics provide the time-pressured researcher with quickly digestible infobytes that get straight to the point. Unlike more intractable books on the subject, there is less need to plough through monotonous introductory chapters.
