I bought a copy of this book to give to my brother on his birthday and ended up keeping it for myself. I bought a second copy for him. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. Finally, the truth is told and straightforward about the experience of black people in America. The author does not hold back and I found that truly refreshing. I am African American and something of a history buff as is my brother and we both found this book enlightening and to the point. It needs to be required reading in the schools, churches, and for all people of color and non-color. Loved it!
