I have been writing curriculum for United States History classes for ten years and have been using this title extensively as a resource for the last three. Teaching mostly African American students they tend to appreciate the class and become more invested when the perspective of the African American is considered. To finally have the Teacher Resource Manual is a blessing. This resource manual is just what you would expect, it is full of links to outside information, worksheets that go with each unit, and connections to the past and present. It was worth twice the price (even though it cost me more than the ten textbooks of this title that I bought combined!). If you want to have a textbook that provides a look at the history of our country from a different perspective and does so with class, dignity, and style then I highly recommend this book to you. If you are looking for a title that will expouse "radical" views then keep on looking because this one be what you are after.
