No one was safe from Civil War tie-ins, not even the Thunderbolts. The long running series by 90's X-Men and X-Force writer Fabian Nicieza picks up in the middle of the superhero Civil War, with Baron Zemo and co. choosing sides, and getting an offer from Tony "Iron Man" Stark that is hard to pass up. Readers beware that if you have no previous knowledge of what has been going on with the Thunderbolts up and until this TPB that you will have little to no idea of what is going on here. For a Civil War tie-in, there isn't all that much going on that is directly tied with the Civil War crossover, and in essence is more about the Thunderbolts. Readers should also take heed that if the only Thunderbolts you know of is the current and fun title with the great Warren Ellis at the helm, Nicieza's run on the title is far from what you get with Ellis. Still though, Nicieza has had his moments with his run on the title, but sadly, none of them are found here with this Civil War tie-in. There is some nice artwork to be found here though, but unless you are a Civil War completest or a fan of Nicieza's run on the series, this is instantly forgettable.
