If I were a middle school teacher who taught a class combining reading, history, and science, OH YIKES! would be my required text. It's written in a brisk, funny fashion, and the book is genuinely informative. (I would have liked to see a bibliography, but you can't have everything.) Hey wait, I AM a middle school teacher! Let's see, what kind of a price can I get on a class set of OH YIKES!... Also recommended: Oh, Yuck!
