I would not call this a history, but a list of names and dates, most of which are incomprehensible to a non-Celtic historian. I agree with the previous reviewer - there was no explanation of who these people were or suggestions of their motivations. Most of the maps were so small and filled with extraneous symbols as to be useless. I gave up after a hundred pages in disgust. I am taking a couple of grandsons to Scotland this summer and was hoping to get a primer in the history to fill out the trip. No such luck.
