A very dated book, but with pretty much timeless information. It helped me out when I was in junior high and seeking to understand medieval history. It is informative, but is very dry. It covers the full range of medieval European history from the late Roman Empire to the Renaissance in detail, and doesn't over-emphasize England and France like many more recent books have.
