About The Author
Robert W. Richmond, a native Kansan and author of Kansas: A Land of Contrasts, is adjunct professor of history at Washburn University and Baker University. He is the former assistant director and treasurer of the Kansas State Historical Society, has been president of both the Kansas History Teachers Association and the American Association for State and Local History, and has taught Kansas history on public television.
