This book is essential for Prince Edward Islanders interested in Genealogy. Its main focus is the Irish but it gives a good background on what was going on with the Acadians and the Scots as well. If you are Irish, you will probably see your ancestors' last names mentioned, maybe even their actual names. (I have several actual ancestors mentioned). It also gives a great understanding of what was going on in Ireland at various times and places, and how and why people from those times and places ended up where they did in PEI. An ESSENTIAL book for PEI-ers even remotely interested in family history. I keep taking it out of the library over and over. I am finally buying it.
