From Library Journal
The history of one-person theater goes back to 18th-century England and the satirist Samuel Foote. It has since evolved into a serious form of theater as performed by such noted soloists as Ruth Draper, Cornelia Otis Skinner, Hal Holbrook, Julie Harris, and Lily Tomlin. The best parts of this book are when individual performers tell how they were inspired to do a one-person show about someone they especially admired. A worthwhile purchase for libraries with large theater arts collections. (Illustrations not seen).
