Reader ReviewsThis book costs over twenty three dollars plus shipping. The total cost of Hardee's manual will cost an Amazon.com buyer nearly $30. Yes, you need this book if you're going to reenact. The drills of the American Civil War have nothing in common with modern drill or infantry tactics. This book completely covers a unit falling in to a company to regiment sized element. Also, it give detailed instructions for everything from the unit forming into line to an individual private loading shooting his musket. But don't buy this book. Go to a American Civil War Sutler, a CW term for a vendor. You can get an inexpensive copy of Hardee's manual for about five dollars. They sell them by the bushel at Civil War reenactments. Try Jarnigans for a vendor. If that does not work then go to cwreenactors.com and get a list of approved vendors. Why pay near thirty dollars when you can get a copy of the real thing for less than 5 dollars?
