Product Description
Abigails Ballet Class tells the story of a precocious 3 ½-year-old girl about to embark upon her first ballet class. Apprehensive at first, Abigail quickly warms to the class and marvels at how much she looks like a real ballerina. Abigails Ballet Class is a book that teaches children to "try it, you might like it." The moral of the story is an old one, but the method of teaching it is incredibly innovative. By putting an Abigail doll in the hands of the reader, the characters come to life, and reading becomes an entirely interactive and exciting experience.
Publisher Description
Abigails Ballet Class is the latest addition to the Abigails Adventures series of books, and it was designed to help early readers enjoy a story by reading it as well as playing it out. The pages of Abigails Ballet Class come attached to a small building which houses The Little Ballerina School. Behind the pages of the book, there is a little door that a child can open to find a small Abigail doll inside a complete dance studio where she can practice her plies and arabesques. An early reader can read through Abigails Ballet Class and use the Abigail doll to either play along while reading, or re-create the story after the book is over.
Reader ReviewsThis is the 2nd book in this series. The book comes with a very cute Abigail doll and has a 3-D ballet studio which opens up in the back. My daughter (who has just started taking ballet this fall) simply loves to have "Abi-dale" do all the dance steps she has learned. The little ballet studio has a double wood barre and mirror-like surface. The book's story is actually the best part. Abigail doesn't want to take the class at first because of all the new people (sound familiar?), but her wise mom says,"just give it a try". And she does, and she has a great time. Good press for us moms!
