Reader ReviewsA good longer time than I'd care to think about, when I was a ballet student, my teacher, the late Lee Vincent Toon, used to use this book and others to teach us how and why ballet is taught the way that it is. Sparger's book was ground-breaking from its first edition in 1949, and still has vital information to impart to the reader. Toe shoes at 9? Not generally a good idea, and here's why. Stick your leg up as high as you can? No, and here's why. Force the feet to turn out on the floor? No, and here's why - plus lots of other do and don't reasons in a writing style accessible to the medical layman. A classic; One definitely worth reading, and also going through any extra steps you have to in order to be able to read! If you teach, or are a serious student, get this book!
