Product Review
A lovely and rich book, (Franco) has a music and a meditative and an exploratory way of going deeply into (her) subject matter. --Beth Ann Fennelly, author "Tender Hooks"
Product Description
A literary "Red Shoes," Portia Franco's debut collection is highly aesthetic. These free verse poems, distinguished by Franco's choice of weighted words, particularly visceral and emotive, are poems to be felt. They are poems about loss, love, death and devotion. They are about dreams of childhood and the gallery of tutus and toe shoes.
Reader ReviewsI love this book. This poetry is not for the faint of heart and it is not always easy reading, as poetry usually isn't, but the language has a fiercely aesthetic quality, and the words are weighted and musical. The language reinvents itself. It is difficult not to feel this collection.
