Product Description
Cecchetti (1850-1928) performed and taught in Russia and with Diaghilev's troupe. Assisted by of one of Cecchetti's star pupils, Stanislas Idzikowski, Cyril Beaumont codified Cecchetti's program for this book, which includes a numbered series of instructions for each exercise in addition to numerous illustrations. 109 black-and-white illustrations.
Reader ReviewsBelieve me, this is a book well worth adding to your library. It is as specific in detail as both the Kirov and Bolshoi 'lessons in classical ballet' manuals. Cecchetti classes are named after the days of the week so on any day the teacher would announce that 'today we are doing the Tuesday class'. Anyone teacher keen on investigating different techniques will find this work highly informative and it will assist in the broadening of their vocational students' dance vocabulary.
