Product Description
For more than twenty years, the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s performance of
Nutcracker has been
the Christmas family event to attend in the Northwest. Highlighted by Maurice Sendak’s stunning production design and Kent Stowell’s inventive choreography (which emphasizes the darker psychological aspects of E. T. A. Hoffmann’s original story), the ballet has been a critical and popular success. Fans of the performance can now relive each scene through the pages of this exquisite keepsake edition. From the Christmas party where young Clara is given a simple nutcracker, to her adventures and romance in the enchanted kingdom of the Nutcracker Prince, Angela Sterling’s photographs capture all the magic of this beloved work. Designed for children, the book’s handsome images and seasonal charm make this a thoughtful gift for adult balletomanes as well.
Reader ReviewsI bought this book at the Nutcracker gift shop for my 7 year old daughter. It is a really neat book with real pictures from the ballet cast for this year. I wanted to get her this so she would have a visual memory of when we went to see the Nutcracker. Now she can open the book and remember all over again. The book has beautiful pictures of each scene from the ballet as well as a description to what is happening in each scene. I paid full price $27.95 for the book. OUCH!! But it was worth it because she can't seem to stop looking at it. If you love the Nutcracker or are going to see it I recomend this book. Buy it now on Amazon while its still cheap!
