Elissa Stein is a writer, illustrator, and graphic designer. The author of Cheerleader and Prom Night , she lives in
New York City with her family. She's never been a beauty queen, but she often wears a tiara. Lee Meriwether, Miss California 1955, captured the crown on Miss America's first-ever television broadcast. She went on to star in film, television, and theater projects, and remains active as both an actress and an advocate for humanitarian endeavors.
