From Library Journal
Michler is the author of several books on crazy quilting, including the Magic of Crazy Quilting, an great introduction to the craft. This volume concentrates on surface embellishments for crazy quilts, teaching a variety of techniques that include appliqu , beading, punch-needle embroidery, couching, cross-stitch, creating dimensional clothing, making fabric flowers, outline stitchery, shadow work, silk ribbon embroidery, tambour work, trapunto, white work, and wool embroidery. Each technique is described and illustrated in some detail, but at the heart of the book are hundreds of motifs clearly outlined on light paper so they can easily be traced and used in making crazy quilts. Although the steps in the process are reviewed here briefly, readers new to the craft will want to start with Michler's earlier book or with Judith Baker Montano's Crazy Quilt Handbook. An great choice for all public library quilting collections.

Reader Reviews
I love this book. Sure, I could find many pictures in other books but this one has the motif outlines by catagory. If you know nothing about some CQ techniques, get a different book. This book shows how to transfer your designs, how to create your own alphabet and has lots of designs to copy. Many flowers, bugs, dragons and such. Some surface techniques I had not done. (a vintage lady with 3D clothes) This book is a joy.
