By emphasizing the role of history, the author brings objectivity to Christian theology and presents an apostolic, rather than a sectarian view of baptism.
Reader Reviews
I found this book to be very informative and quite eye opening in many areas regarding the doctrine of Christian Baptism and the issue of biblical interpretation. In the book, biblical texts and examples of baptism are thoroughly examined and leave the reader with a clear understanding of the doctrine. The author's historical journey through the first century church was very revealing as to how the doctrine of baptism was passed on and practiced in the early church. I really enjoyed the philosophical viewpoints of the author regarding the many different practices of baptism in the modern churches today.
