About The Author
The author is a graduate of Al-Azhar University, Cairo. He is President of The Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences (GSISS), USA; President of The Fiqh Council of North America; Member of the OIC Islamic Fiqh Academy; and former President of The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), USA. He is also the author of numerous works including: Towards a Fiqh for Minorities; The Ethics of Disagreement in Islam; Ijtihad; and The Quran and the Sunnah: The Time-Space Factor.

Its history as to the first book written on Usul Al-Fiqh was that of Imam Al-Shafii's Risala, and the period after the Shafii's risala, the developments made in this field uptill this day of ours. Its an exellent reference work after Imam Al-Shafii's Risala. Both these books are complementary to each other. Amazon is doing a good work, and giving good value for money service. Must read and to be owned in a person home shelf.
