Product Description
With this book, Page gives readers a sequel to The Land and the Book: An Introduction to the World of the Bible. His fascinating exploration of the history, culture, and geography of the Ancient Near East brings together the fruits of contemporary historical and archaeological research, introducing readers not only to the historical and literary events but to the land of the Bible.
Reader ReviewsIt is extremely difficult for 20th Century, western culture Americans to think as if we were first century, eastern culture Jews. Charles Page helps the reader to get as close as we are likely to get. His intimate familiarity with both the land of the Bible and the eastern culture of those who live there bring the words and deeds of Jesus to life for the reader. This is not a devotional book nor is it a ponderous scholarly tome. If, however, the reader is a serious student of the Bible or wants to more fully understand Jesus of Nazareth, this book is not to be missed.
