Reader ReviewsThis book should clear up any misconceptions that Mormons are not Christians. Definitive and authoritative in its views of Jesus and his mission within LDS theology. The book follows Jesus from his "pre-earth life" through his earthly ministry, to his mission to the "spirit world" after his death, to his appearance to the Native Americans. Talmage then speculates on Jesus' return to Earth, and his role in the judgment of mankind, by referring to Biblical and LDS scriptures. This book should be the key reference for any Christian confused about the Mormon doctrine of Jesus Christ. Note that this is not a historical study. It is a theological discourse by James Talmage. It does not attempt a truly historical analysis of Jesus. It does not examine the "different Jesus'" portrayed in each of the Gospels. Nor does it examine non-canonical texts such as the Gnostic Gospels (as they were not available at the time of publication). Nevertheless, well-written and worthwhile to understand how Mormons view Jesus.
