Reader Reviews
This priceless little book is, sadly, sure to be overlooked by some in the bookstore. I can promise you that size is not an accurate measuring tool: what lies inside this book are the words of the most wonderful Being in Creation. Other than the introduction by Jim Caviezel, there's no regular text in this book, just passages from the Gospel. Christ's powerful words to His disciples, the Pharisees, the multitudes, and the world in general are all included, the popular as well as the debated. Christ's last hours before the Crucifiction and the Crucifiction itself are both recorded, as well as His return and promise of returning permanently at the end of Ages. The bonus CD in the back of this book is something else by itself: all the passages found in the book are featured on the soundtrack, and they are not read so much as performed by Jim Caviezel. In fact, different voices act out the different people in the Gospel; Caviezel speaks as Jesus, while separate actors speak as Simon, Nicodemus, and various narrators. This book and the bonus CD are amazing treasures for every heart. Take a journey back to the Son of Man and listen to His voice and His promises like no other! I highly recommend this as a life-changing tool for both Christians and non-Christians. Other classic books focusing specifically on Christ's character and sacrifice are "The Cross" by Max Lucado and "The Passion: Photographs from the Film" by Mel Gibson (includes Scripture).
