Product Description
Feminist Women's Koran (Quran or Q'ran).
Suitable for women and children and enlightened men--teaches peace and non-violence, harmony and love; all references to war and aggression, acts of violence and polygamy are redirected to actions of love, kindness and caring. Note that this is first a foremost a book of peace and love, but it also teaches kindness, tolerance, understanding, sympathy, empathy and understanding. Sexism, sexual discrimination including gender identity discrimination, cruelty to others, including prisoners, are all denounced.
This is an entirely new interpretation of the Koran, and it has been written in entirely by and for women. Perhaps when you once tried to read the Koran you found the use of war to settle difference, make money, build empires and spread religion to be abhorrent. In addition, much of the original book simply does not make much sense to non-Arabs that do not know the nuances of Arab culture and traditions. Well, in this version extensive footnotes explain references specific to ancient Arab culture so you will not have to continually guess what was being referred to. Also, Goddess does not maim, kill, hate, curse or engage in actions of violence and cursing against womankind--She is pure love. The traditional Arab stories are rich and amazing and of interest to everyone.
Approx. 435 pages and over 600 footnotes explain everything in clear, modern language. Large 8.5 x 11.0" paper, with 11 point font, easy to read. Professionally bound by LuLu Corp. Cover art by Wendy McElfish. High quality, 24 lb acid free paper designed to last a lifetime.

Reader ReviewsThis book is one of the best interpretations of the Koran that I've read. Most are old and use very archaic and outdated language, making them difficult to understand. Moreover, the book is refreshing, cheerful and kind--it has no negativity at all in it! I have read and studied numerous translations and interpretations of the Koran and as a feminist, this is my all time favorite. I hope it spreads in popularity and brings peace to the world.
