This book was a total disappointment. What I had expected to read were missionary stories about individuals who impacted the world for Christ. In reality the book contains what I would term "missionary horror stories". These stories are frightening, not something I would want to read to a child. Another criticism I have of the book is that it is poorly written. It reads as if it were written by a highschool English student. The author apparently did not research her subject thoroughly before writing. The book contains many inaccuracies about the missionaries and the events in their lives. Instead of reading this book our family chose to read the "Hero Tales" series by Dave and Neta Jackson along with "Heaven's Heroes" by David Shibley.
