Product Description
Islamic, moslem challenge to the church and western societystirring movements that could change the face of the world during the next 50 years
Reader ReviewsCityHarvest Publications; Australia; 2004: 2nd ed. 4th printing; 410 pgs.; [www.cityharvest.org.au]; ISBN:0-957-79055-4 (paperback). Part 1 of the book details "What's Happening" as Muslim immigrants impact their host countries with their sharia religious beliefs and the building of blaring mosques in Western Europe, the U.S., Africa, and Sudan during the 1990s; but rather polemical -- sort of a "Islam expands while godless humanists weaken" discussion. Part 2 explains the historical development of Islam and its beliefs and customs; no really great revelations from other similar books; but informative to the novice student in comparing religious themes from verses (ayat) of the Quran with those of the Bible. Part 3: "Response--God and Us" discusses the declining of the Christian movement throughout Europe as it falls into materialism and weakening of the Christian ethos. The author gives some examples where he believes God intervened to protect some Christian missionaries from rampaging "People of Peace" Islamofascists (but he doesn't explain why God appears to have ignored the killings of so many more Christian evangelists throughout Dar al-Islam). The author details what Christians need to do in witnessing their faith to the Mohammadeans. Not a book that will be quoted in college essays or other scholarly works, but a basic bare-bones introductory book for Bible-thumpers who are unfamiliar with Islam. Not bad, but not great. A reader should also covet similar books by Robert Spencer and Mark Gabriel.
