Reader ReviewsWorking as a psychologist in public psychiatry brings with it the demands of treating the more severe end of major mental illnesses as well as the limitations of exploring spiritual dimensions of client's experiences. In exploring the literature relating to Christianity's response to mental illness I've come across many poorly reserched or narrowminded conceptions of major mental illness, accurate psychiatric assessment and treatment, spiritual conceptualisations of presenting problems, spiritual diagnoses combining knowledge from psychiatry and Biblical examples and fomrulating appropriate treatment plans. This book offers extremely well thought out material on the foundations of Christianity's role in viewing mental illness, the importance of utilising God's given knowledge from psychiatry and related fields, as well as the ultimate provision of God's intervention in helping those with a mental illness. Highly recomended for people with training in psychiatry and those exploring the integration between psychiatry and Christianity.
