Reader Reviews
Having waded through eight chapters of the book, I am at last giving up. The book as a whole lacks coherence and consistency, and, really, as it stands is not ready for publication, and yet, here it is--in hardback and paperback, no less. The chapter titles and section headings rarely accurately reflect the subject at hand, and in most instances after reading through it all, one is left wondering what the point was. The author meanders his way through variuos personal opinions and observations, only some of which have any actual bearing on the book's subtitle of "[s]ymbolism in doctrine, religious traditions, and temple architecture." Many of his 'points' have scripture or other sources cited as support that, really, no matter how one reads them, simply do not support the leaps of logic that the author occasionally makes. Again and again, he interjects bizarre tidbits of folk doctrine, personal interpretations, and the like. All in all, while the book represents a genuine effort, it was in need of further revision, and some sincere editing in order to be one worth reading, let alone purchasing.
