About The Author
John Omohundro is SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Anthropology at SUNY Potsdam. He has taught introductory cultural anthropology for 32 years, receiving the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1985 and the Honors Professor of the Year Award in 2002. His research interests include ethnic relations, social networks, disaster impacts, and environmental anthropology. He has conducted research in Nevada, San Francisco, the Philippines, Newfoundland, and New York. Among his publications are
