Product Description
Astro-Pack contains all the information needed to start the fascinating hobby of astronomy. "The Night Sky through your Telescope" shows how to set up and use any telescope, how to use a planisphere and star charts, what to see, how to photograph the heavens, and a guide to useful accessories. "Star Finder" shows the planets, stars, and constellations in the northern hemisphere visible month-by-month. The planisphere is a practical hour-by-hour tracker of the constellations in a format big enough to use anywhere in the United States. The 3-map large-scale Star Chart and over 1400 photographs and drawings gives maximum detail on what is observable and can be used anywhere in the world.
Reader ReviewsThe astro pack comes with a book on things to know about telescopes and what to buy; a star finder month-to-month guide; a star chart for constellations clusters and nebulae and a planisphere. So basically you're getting everything in one package which is great for the newbie's (like myself). All four items are neatly packed in a glossy folder for portability. I learned a lot just reading the book. It's a great book, but there are books out there that you will definately want to add to your collection like "Nightwatch" by Terrence Dickinson who I think gives even more recommendations on telescopes and what to buy. Also definatley "Left Turn at Orion". If you buy all three, you're good to go. Be sure to buy these items BEFORE purchasing a telescope. It's always good to do you homework before making a big investment. I would give it 5 stars, but after reading "Nightwatch" and "Left Turn at Orion", I find these two books simplify astronomy a little more than the astropack, but again the astropack does give great info and comes with great tools to use, but I still recommend you get the other two books in addition which got several great reviews!
