Product Review
"I believe this book will find a wide readership. To specialists in tropical fruit research it will be indispensable. Many other horticultural researchers, extension workers, and consultants will use it. It is primarily a reference book that should be included in all good horticultural libraries, and it is a good addition to the world literature on mango."--HortScience
Product Description
The mango is one of the oldest cultivated fruit crops, having been grown in India for at least 4000 years. Mango is the most important fruit crop of Asia, and its annual production is exceeded worldwide only by Musa, citrus, grapes, and apples. During the last decade there has been a doubling of mango production as markets have been developed in Europe and North America. There is now substantial mango production in central and South America, as well as an expanding industry in regions such as northern Australia, South Africa, Israel and southern USA.
There has been no comprehensive scientific book on all aspects of mango, considered on a worldwide basis, for more than thirty years. This book aims to fill this gap, addressing all issues related to mango biology, production, and utilization. Written by leading research workers from the USA, India, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, Mexico, UK, France, and Israel, it represents a standard definitive work on the subject.
