Reader ReviewsI am like many aquarists who have problems with algae. I bought 2 books trying to find answers to get rid of those fast growing algae, but what I encountered is that I don't know what kind of algae is bad, and how they looked like. The general reef aquarium book would briefly go over about nuisance algae with a few color pictures, but I was still quite lost in recognizing and controlling the algae in my tank. When I saw this book title, I was eager to read this book expecting that the book would be full of pictures showing me what's considered a nuisance algae and how to minimize it. I was very disappointed. This 38 page "book" doesn't look like a book, it looks more like a pamphlet with 100% words(9"H x 6"W). Not a single picture is in the book to show me various kinds of algae, which I think is essential to any book on the topic of aquarium. Both of my general saltwater aquarium books are over 300 pages in color with many pictures, and sells for $23-$25. I just don't know how can this small 38 page all text b/w "book" can sell for $8.99. I think I was ripped off. I still gave it 3 stars for the content of the book, in which is useless to me because there are NO pictures. I would need to spend another $60 to buy the reef aquarium identification book to really know what Dr. Bob Goemans is talking about.
