Reader ReviewsFinally, an entire book that focuses on an old-earth creation model. There have been too few of these. The book is well written, a fairly quick read, and well footnoted. It does have some flaws. The book definitely has its point of view so it does not acknowledge the strong points of young-earth creationism and sometimes overstates its own points. For example, some of the church fathers were not as open to the days of Genesis 1 being "long days" as Ross presumes. This book also has the irritating habit of briefly summarizing a point and then pointing to another book for the meat of the argument, rather than giving a full argument in this book. I wanted a full resource on the issue: I can't afford to buy twenty other books to get the full idea! I wish Ross had made this book a little larger and included more detail. At the least he could put added material on his website and put the URLs in the book. Ross also includes rebuttals to too few of the young-earth creation points, mentioning only about eight. For example, he barely mentions the argument that the moon's recession from the earth is too fast for billions of years. I had to search the Internet to get the full picture on this idea. All in all, an excellent book with some flaws. I would give this book four and a half stars, if I could give half-stars.
